March 2024: The Order That Should Have Been Simple

The replacement connectors cost $2,900. Labor and downtime added another $1,900. Total: $4,800, plus a week of schedule pain.
The original $200 savings became a $4,800 lesson. That's what total cost of ownership (i.e., not just the unit price, but all associated costs) actually means.
Now my team's pre-order checklist includes four questions:
