That's not this meter's focus; look at a Fluke 87V or a dedicated process meter. If you're testing service entrances with high fault current potential, choose a CAT IV rated meter. And if you're mainly doing residential work, you can get by with something cheaper.

But for electricians who work in commercial and light industrial settings, maintaining Hoffman boxes and distribution panels, the Fluke 117 hits the sweet spot. Look, I'm not saying you can't diagnose a Hoffman box with a $30 meter. You can. For a while. Then the ghost voltage gets you, and you'll spend three hours replacing a part that wasn't broken.
